Late for an MOT

I was just 2 minutes late for a booked MOT and got turned away. Now I realise late is late, but 2 minutes is a little excessive. 2 minutes is the error between clocks for goodness sake. I booked it 10 days ago and waited to go to this garage because it is apparently quite good...

Can anyone recommend an MOT place in the Bracknell area, I don't fancy giving the other garage any money after this morning.

Probably a bit far, but I used Mr.Clutch in Maidenhead! I've never taken my cars to places like that before and do 99% of work on my cars myself, but the one in Maidenhead has been brilliant to me - things where I've needed a ramp like repositioning my exhaust after hitting it on speedbump, they fit it in on the MOT ramps between MOT's (too low to go on the normal post ramps) and have even done it for free a couple of times for other minor adjustments. Theyve done work on various other friends/families cars that I've recommended and they've all been pleased. They do an MOT for £28 with a voucher I think, which can be printed from their website or pulled from the local paper - I've had a couple and not failed on anything suspect.

Thanks chaps. Maidenhead is a little bit far yes, but Reading is possible. I could just wait until Monday to get it done at the same place, better make sure I leave with half an hour to spare!

Called and booked in on Monday. Nice chap on the phone too, sounds like a much better place than I went to this morning.

Cancelled the appointment at the other place, no money for them and their unreasonable "service".

You should roll up at the first place on time, and if they don't wave you straight into the bay with staff waiting, tell them that they made you wait too long, and drive off.

Nationwide Autocentre always seem to have a half price deal on if you book online. It's only an MOT so I wouldn't think you need a specialist or anything for that. They even changed a bulb for free so the missus car would pass.

I feel I've had my 'revenge' now anyway. I took great pleasure in phoning up and speaking to the same woman, telling her I didn't want to get it done there anymore. They didn't even offer me the next slot in the day, I was pushed back to the afternoon.

I don't want to name and shame, but I'm not going back there ever again. I had seen the offer but it's not enough to make me go.
