NO BOOST on MK1 Turbo
Discussion
As you know I have had an eventful and busy week
Crank Seal now sorted
Timing Sorted
Tappets now nice and quiet
BUT.......................................
I have got no BOOST, its driving like an N\A car, makes all the right sounds but just go turbo power.
Power delivery is smooth, but just lacking on the Turbo side now.
What up now????

The timing on the Link shouldn't need to be touched - it should have been set up with stock timing i.e. 10BTDC. All you have to do is make sure the timing is set to 10BTDC and the link will do the rest. Worst case scenario is that the link was tuned with the timing at 14BTDC in which case you'll lose 4 degrees of timing which will lose a little power but will be perfectly safe.
As for the lost boost - make sure all your vacuum/boost pipes are fitted properly and aren't pinched/kinked.

Errrr followed Miata timing set up on youtube "MX-5 Miata Timing Belt 2 of 2 Mike's Place" and set it up at TDC not 10BTDC
Yes, that's cam timing. The timing I'm talking about (which is what the FM Link will be controlling) is the ignition timing which is 10BTDC as stock

Oh ok,
That's what Mark is talking about that is controlled by my link ecu.
I am going to have a go at reading the instruction, if not wait for Mark to get back of his hols.
As long as you set the base timing to 10BTDC it should be fine to drive as it is. The Link shouldn't need are tuning at all. That's what Mark is talking about that is controlled by my link ecu.
