I'm planning on being there tomorrow although due to other commitments can't get there until about midday. Will it all be over by then? Who's going and what time are you running, roughly?

Can't take the cerb unfortunately as the starter solenoid's fooked.

Also if anyone knows a good spot to park near the action that would be handy as I'll have the kids with me. smile

You will miss our runs unfortunately Rog, as the Novice class is done and dusted by lunch. I've got to make a run for the hills as I have foolishly agreed to play rugby tomorrow afternoon but TC and Dean normally hang about (Dean to no doubt collect his prize again now he has fitted a trick diff and TC to watch from the sidelines...again hehe)

Plenty of other stuff going on in the afternoon, including a couple of the 'big boy' Cerbs (BCA's dad etc)

NB Weather forecast atm is showing dry in the morning, rain in the afternoon, so bring a brolly

Be good to see you down there Rog, as Fubes says all the good action (handicap class wink) is early on. Weather looking a bit grotts as well so if it's hoiking it down I suspect I will scarper pretty soon after our final runs as well. Only good news on the weather front is the ability to laugh at the people running 888s winkhehe

Dean, may I be the first to say.... shout CHEATER!

So I have to give TC 1 second on one side and you only get 0.5 of a second with your new diff.

Thank God for Goodwood wink

Will defo try an get down there in the morning then. The kids won't want to hang around too long (so we may not have time to see the speed6s complete their runs) but have rearranged my schedule so could be down there for half nine ish.

Was good to see you guys today, I had to burger off after the second run - took a bit longer than I thought.

Did TC beat you in the end Dean on handicap? smile

Yes he did woohoo ...

...it was only thanks to the rather favourable handicap system however, so rather a hollow victory.

Well done to you all, as I thoroughly enjoyed another good show. Especially the fact that you all found so much traction off the line in damp conditions.

Awesome burnout from BCA!

Congrats to all of the TVR lot, Fubar put in a stunning time at the end, 12.8 at the BST's is not to be frowned upon, and the terminal speed was mighty. I believe Dean also managed to put in a 12.68 which is pretty close to his previous best and TC managed to better his previous times too IIRC. Apologies for not making it over to talk to you guys - I only briefly caught ten seconds to chat to Fubar (and notice his nice tyres wink) I had my best mate with me, so we were mainly just watching the runs rather than looking around the paddock... we'll have to sort something in future afterwards as we now have a house down there. smile

It wasnt quite as successful a speed trial for us, dad once again did us proud with the tyre warming (massive burnouts) but unfortunately every time it queued up for a run the heavens opened, the nearest we got to a dry run was filled with wheelspin until 3rd gear, previous to that it wasnt quite possible to use full throttle, best of day was over a second slower than our previous personal best of 12.79. I suppose after so many years of competing in glorious sunshine it was likely we'd eventually see wet runs. Atleast the crowd seemed to like the tyre warming/ sound, TVR's always win the day with this, crowd favourites easily. Just a shame Dave Morris wasnt there with his Tuscan racer, a truly epic car and an absolute gent, he was missed from the day - hopefully he'll be back next year?

Plans are already in place for next year, we'll see how things go... nothing is confirmed yet. whistle

Great day, despite the weather, thanks to anyone who came over and spoke to dad, the compliments/support are always appreciated. thumbup

Congrats Fubar/TC/Dean, see you there next year. thumbup

Ben I never got to see any of my stats as I had to scoot. What was my terminal?

So boys and girls, Fubar gets fastest Cerb of the day woohoo. Who is going to man up next year and try to snatch my trophy? wink

Seriously, it would be brill to have more Cerbs there. Rog? You sounded tempted.

Dont quote me on this, but I believe you got 118mph terminal... thumbup About time those horses made themselves known eh? wink haha!

In all seriousness; the Brighton speed trials in the dry is a very slippery surface, there are bumps - which not only cause traction issues, are also linked with surface changes - to do alright there, you need to either have 4wd, good traction control, or fantastic driving. As you are all aware, TVR's do not accept the former as good form, so the latter is key. In the wet, this challenge is even harder. To all that compete these cars, you deserve the applause and appreciation - its not easy at all. thumbupsmile

I personally think we need to keep the number of cerbs consistant, I'd much rather a strong entry, than see some of the now regulars get turned away. smile
