Resident in my door mirror!

I'm sure I'm not the only person on here who has a resident spider in my OS door mirror - despite frequent pressure washing there is a small web the following morning between the mirror and door pillar. I've poked and proddded around the gap between the mirror and casing trying to remove the spider, and any time I see it, I do try to swat it away, but it's smart. Quick reaction, mind reading spider about 1/2 cm across.
I know the PH membership is generally a bit wussy about spiders, so I won't post any pictures - not that it hangs around long enough to pose.
I washed the car earlier today, the went to the supermarket. Driving back in traffic, the spider was doing its acrobatics forming the web less than an hour after washing it, and whilst I travelling about 30-35mph! After seeing this display of dedication from it, I'm now thinking I'm just let it live there whilst I have the car.
However, is it at all likely to cause any trouble in there with the heating elements or adjustment motors - laying eggs sacs, or any sort of corrosive excrement for example?

I have one of these little buggers and I cannot get rid of him. I saw him on his web once and decided to be a bit clever and blast him off with the hose pipe while washing the car, but he just hid inside the mirror and I have not seen him since. I destroy the webs he makes every time I see them, but soon I will just spray some Raid fly spray into the gap between the mirror and the casing. He won't survive that, but then another one will probably move in.
Spiders don't worry me, moths on the other hand do. Shortly before I sold my E36 cabrio last month, I got it out of the porch for a wash. I put a tarp on the roof as the bloody ginger mog two doors down liked to sleep there.
Anyway, to my horror, while reversing I noticed an enormous moth on the passenger window, one one the rear screen, then one on the drivers door. Nearly shat one. More impressed I didn't hit the gas and career into my neighbour's lounge.
Every creature has its place except creepy crawlies on our cars....oh, and Vanessa Feltz.....sheesh, imagine her glued to your window....
