fitted my slicks today and whilst fitting the rim screws discovered that one of them is leaking air through the sidewall.looks like the tyre either rubbed up against something or the rubber is perished in a line half way round the tyre almost exactly 2" away from rim.perhaps this is where they wrinkle?they have not had much use and are a couple of years old but not normally mounted on car.have used tyre softener on them prior to fitting them.

my question is this:
would you fit tubes(which i have got) and run em or put my street tyres back on and suffer traction loss?
thanks guys

Depends how much you like high speed crashes. Me? I wouldnt take any chances with tyres. Buy new slicks if in any doubt.
