PS3 DNS Issue After Cheanging Router

Apologies if its been said but search is bust and a google search gets all sorts of guff

New N+ router fitted, lappy, pc, iphone all hooked up but PS3 just refuses, it finds the router and i enter the password but it wont log on and says DNS error

I have entered it manually taking the settings from the router control panel and also auto - no joy

In simple terms can I fix it ? its driving me nuts

What security settings have you got on the router ?

Theres usually a choice of WEP and something else, and the PS3 doesnt like one of them.

Had same problem with my PS3 when I got a new router, changed security settings and Bob was my Father's Brother.

Thanks - Im on the none WEP one - will try WEP see what happens

I had no end of trouble using wireless on my PS3 so iftted ethernet over power and that solved it.

yep me too- couldn't get iplayer to properly stream over wi-fi at all but over ethernet its absolutely perfect.

Lol I used to sell a Panasonic version of that. I have wired the house in cat5 so will reluctantly look at hard wire. Tech hey - the further forward you go shouldnt it work better ?
