Today I saw a Facel Vega

Never even heard of one before. Not the one in the image, but I'd left my camera behind so had to google.

just sitting there outside a pub in rural Kent looking rather lovely.

Anyone know anything about these?

I've got an old 1962 Observers book of cars and they were my favourite - stunning aren't they - they just ooze class. If you were taking Gina Llolobrigida (spel?) out for a date this would be the car for the job.

Fabulous things - never seen one in the flesh so I personally consider you lucky.

French, huge Chrysler engine, unusual dash painted metal but looked like wood. Frightfully expensive when new and darling of celebrities. RIngo Starr had one. Very rust prone. I was in one whan I was a kid. Amazing bit of kit.
