Might be a re post but Seiko have announced a series of watches with a ultra thin matrix screen.

The display tech has been around for a while on watches with a company called Phosphor. Sieko have given it a fancy name but it is nicknamed 'electronic paper'

Motorola have even used it in a phone.

Yeah , I have seen it in the Motorola phone - but this seems to have more "resolution".

I'd be very tempted, but is it me or does that look like a phone display with the airplane mode indicator, battery indicator etc which would have no real point on a watch.

I suspect that's a demo for world time or traveling. I guess like a Casio G-Shock it will have multiple display options/modes.

I rather like it, but at £750 I'll not be an 'early adopter'.

Why does it have the death star on it?

The batteries must last forever on those...

e-ink displays only use power to change the display, not to display static images. Ergo, the battery is only consumed for a tiniest fraction of a second each time the display changes, not permanently like an LCD watch.
