Her indoors wrote my car off she drove into a parked bus due to low sun so fault has been admitted by her,it was an accident and insurance have paid out with no problems at all. What i want to know is am i in for a massive premium hike,i have protected no claims and she was named driver but now know i am insuring her again as a named driver who has had a recent accident. She is over 30 and has never had a claim before in 13 years of driving. Our new drive will be same insurance group so is my wallet gonna get hurt.

There is more than likely going to be an increase but its impossible to say how much and will vary per insurer.

You mean to the question that's already been answered?

Here's a bit more detail.

1. Your base premium will increase due to the claim
2. To this the various positives and negatives will be applied to come out with the non-discounted rate
3. Your NCD is protected therefore your discount off the calculated premium will remain.
4. Your premium will also rise as all insurance rates are rising anyway
5. None of this matters until renewal
6. Different insurers will have different premiums
7. Other insurers may not honour the protected NCD and step this back by 2 years

8. Lighten up.

You started it you bh lol, twas her indoors that prompted me to post this thread (and she now fast asleep)she all worried and still has not been behind the wheel since the crash. Our little one was in the back in her baby chair which worked wonders, both were taken by ambulance to hospital with cuts and severe bruises it was a traumatic time for us all me included i heard the smash whilst preparing a brew in my kitchen only to find out soon it was my girls that was involved. So am sorry fella if you felt i was short with your replies, under the circumstances i was a little peeved.

I'd expect your missus will be in for questioning soon due to her dangerous driving.

It was only a wind-up and I did give all the info he needed in my second post.

Given the corcumstances, maybe I was a bit OTT, but I didn't know that at the time, so apologies.
