After not riding a bike since selling my old Saracen one when I was about 17, at the age of 23 I have bought a new one. Have been itching to get back on a bike for a while now and so I've finally bitten the bullet and ordered one! I'm aware that it's not the best bike in the world, but to me £370 is loads of money to spend on a bike! Really pleased with my choice too - it's a Specialized Hardrock Disc 2011 in white and red. Just need to wait two weeks for it to arrive now and I'm quite excited! Never had a bike with disc brakes before, so my inner geek absolutely thought it was worth the extra £40 to get the mechanical disc version over the V-brake model.biggrin

I have just started out again and got the same bike. Had it for 2 months now and love it. Easy to upgrade when you need to. The only thing i would change is the pedals.

Lovely looking bike where did you get it from?

Cheers for the compliments, guys! I've ordered it from evanscycles.com - seem to be a popular place with a good price and it's delivered fully built too, which is good as I wouldn't know where to start! I'll put some pics etc up when I get it.

I've got a set of DMR V8's on eBay starting at just €5. They're worn but in perfect working order.

ETA: They start at €5....sorry! I've put so many items on eBay I got the price wrong.....

I've got the 2010 version. Replaced the pedals and will be changing the brakes soon. No problems with it in the year I've had it, although haven't done many miles. Enjoy it mate.

Same bike I started on, although with me, it was the 2007 version. Very upgradable, in fact, mine's hardly got any OEM bits on it!

I've got V8's on my bike - I like the pedals, but the spikes destory the skin on your legs if they catch.

The tech support from DMR is brilliant - couldn't recommend them highly enough!

Had the 2007 version of that bike up until a few weeks ago, and it was fantastic, never broke only serviced it twice and took my lard ass about quite happily. Good choice.
