Plenty of those house spiders around during September and early October, we tend to get more if it's wet outside too.

I've got a plug-in Spider scarer thing, does the job quite well in the bedrooms upstairs, but get a few sneaking in through the conservatory down stairs.

Try living in a 112 year old building, a bit of DIY going on upstairs, that coupled to the weather had brought in / disturbed some massive spiders , and some bizarre ones with big white bodies !

Even my spidercatchers (cats) are thinking twice about some of these !

Think its to do with weather/tempreture/hatching. i.e., warm and wet so eggs hatch, gets colder after september so spiders die/leave/hibernate. Not sure though.

We just had one run across the lounge carpet, the wife screamed and the lovely spaniel decided that the wife wanted the spider, so picked it up and took it to her smile

All was resolved when the spaniel decided to eat it...

Funny enough, I just found one in our lounge last night.
I think they are partially good, in that they eat other smaller stuff, but I am probably wrong.

What kind of spider is it, ?
it's not dangerous is it?

Had 1 spider in my room yesterday, and another today. Stamping on the floor or smacking the wall near them makes them stop. Afew bits of tissue on a small book, whack them, and just lift off the book and grab em with the tissue. down the toilet you go!!!RAWRRRR

IIRC it's the males that run around at this time of year and they are quite a bit smaller than the female of the species. It that's an example of male house spiders wft are the females like in the corner of your rooms or sheds?

In my house these fellas (Pholcus phalangioides) are most welcome...
