BMW Paintwork Warranty Query....
Discussion
I have a 2 year old E91 from new. Since the last 3 months, I have noticed that after washing my car, there are some small 'blotches' present all over the paintwork. I have tried every chemical possible and even clayed the car and they will not budge. Took the car to a 'professional detailer' who said I would need to machine polish and correct the whole car. Apparently he had seen a few vehicles with similar and thought it may have been to some temporary airborne contaminent. Basically - do I have a case against BMW for suboptimal paintwork? Otherwise I need 1/2 a G to sort it.
Yeah - mine look very similar to your first 2 pics. Did you ever work out what caused it? Surely the paintwork should be resistant to any form of natural influence though ? Did you manage to find a way to remove it ?

From the BMW warranty manual:
"Paintwork warranty protects the vehicle against defects such as blistering, discolouration or staining of the visible surface of all painted panels occurring as a result of faulty manufacture."
"Damage caused by birdlime or industrial fall out is not a manufacturing defect and cannot be claimed under warranty"
