Mini Insurance
Discussion
My sister is learning to drive at the moment and had her heart set on getting a Mini for when she passes her test. She would be looking at getting a 2001/2002 One most likely.
When we got some quotes in December Minis were pretty cheap to insure and were coming up at around the same price as golfs, around £950.
Now I'm finding that its almost impossible to find any one who will quote on a mini, most refused to quote or come back with £5k+ quotes!
Tesco are generally the cheapest for us and have given her quotes of around £1200 for a 1.5 swift, but refused to quote her on a mini.
Does any one know of a company which hasn't compleatly written Minis off as a car for young people?

Have you tryed using the comparison web sites. Got quite a good price (Lets just say over 21) with zero no clames. Its also probably with looking to see how is advertysing in the mini mags.
Yes I have tried comparison sites, the cheapest they come up with is £2500! Which seems crazy in comparison to what we were getting quoted before! She is 17.
Good idea about the mini mags, I will have to check those out.
Insurance prices have generally gone mental this year.
I couldnt better my renewal price for first time in 7 years.
Last week I tried to get new insurance for my Mum who is 60+ with 9+ NCB on a Corsa worth less than £400 TPFT. Couldnt get less than £180 and her renewal from current provider was £165.
