This weekends road trip.
Discussion
This weekend SWMBO and I are going driving from Aberdeen to Torridon for a long weekend. I've only ever driven further than inverness once and that was to Ullapool and then onto the Isle of Lewis so I am not familiar with any of the roads. Are there are better roads than just the standard A96? We will be in either the subaru or mx5 so will be fun driving regardless.

Stay off the A96, it's no fun and allways a bit of drag with tractors and lorrys etc. I would head for Ballater on the A93 then take the A939 to Cock bridge then over the Lecht to Tomintoul continue on to Grantown on Spey then over to Carrbridge and on to the A9 north for Inverness a lot more fun IMO..
From Inverness take the Ulapool as far as Garve then take the A832 Achnasheen road to Kinlochewe from here take the A896 to Torridon. The Achnasheen road is a belter !!
Have fun...
