After being taken our for a nice meal over the weekend to celebrate my birthday early (my bday is actually today) we are staying in tonight and will cook something ourselves.

Question is what to have? I have my presents and cards to open so don't want to spend hours cooking (I have an early(ish) start tomorrow too) but the O/H has emailed me saying 'what do you want for dinner? I'll buy it and cook it'

I can't decide. There is a lot to be said for a lump of fillet, some chips and a glass of red.....but what else that's a treat, but doesn't take all night to cook?

Sorry for asking, but my mind is blank.

Happy birthday!
Steak & chips sounds good. Or order a take away?

Go to a decent butchers and buy a few nice big thick rump or t-bone steaks and have with your own home made chips.

This won, I haven't had it for ages. Mrs is cooking and I'm banned from the kitchen, so I have no idea what sausages or what it's with.

My glass of wine has just been delivered though biggrin

Thanks everyone.
