New Alloy Wheels

I am looking to upgrade my current 16" alloys to a new set of 17" alloys on my Ford Mondeo.

Do i need to have a 17" spare or am i ok to still have a 16" space saver??

Will this effect the running of the car in the unfortunate event of a puncture or do i need a 17" spare???

As long as the rolling radius of the new wheels is comparable with the old ones you are fine

Just buy a 16 inch wheel with the side wall high enough that makes it the same size as the 17inch wheel.
