Evening all,

I've got Sky+, but my flat only has one sky feed coming into the building (despite having two ariel sockets) so I can't really take advantadge of all the features of Sky+, which I've kind of come to live with now.

However, I appeal to the collective superior knowledge of PH, in trying to resolve the most fustrating aspect of it. I'm constantly getting a no signal message - normally after watching/pausing something the night before. Which means the only way I can recieve a signal is to turn the box on/off at the wall - which seems to take an age.

So.. this is my long winded way of asking is there a quicker way of getting the signal without having to restart the box?

Thanks in advance!

Iffy box, you can get two feeds down one cable using a stacker/destacker unit. How do you get the sky signal, multiswitch?

If you are running sky+ with a single feed, you need to set the box up accordingly:

Otherwise when you record it tries to switch constantly between the two feeds one of which isn't connected.

Have looked at those stackers, but I can't access the roof/dish.

Dobbo, that links looks like the answer, but it doesn't relate to the options I get when I press the Services button! Most fustrating, but it's a step in the right direction!

Cheers guys.

Edit-- just realised that link is for Sky+HD, so my poverty spec SD menu must be different! I'll dig around for the paupers version!

Im not sure if the old EPG has that option, if it does press SERVICES,4,0,1,SELECT and have a look in that menu (but dont change anything else)

I have pretty much the same problem, except I do have 2 feeds, only one of which works though.

Setting a reminder seems to upset it and (obviously) so does trying to record while watching something else.

Rather than switching the box on and off at the wall (which takes an age) you might want to try switching the LNB on and off - seems to work for me and takes about 5 seconds to do.

Services, 4,0,1 select then go to LNB Setup (I think) switch the LNB power supply off, save, switch back on, save and Robert is your mother's brother.

if you have 2 arial sockets there is a possibility that they come from the same cupboard and dependant on how they are wired, you may be able to get the landlord/managing agent to get the building contractor to 'put' sky down the second wire.

NOW this is all dependant on how its wired, so.........

With the regards to the stacker destacker. They can be very troublesome as it depends on a lot of different things, including how its wired in the cupboard. You may have to pay for more than just the stacker destacker if other equipment has to be upgraded. Also if the wire they used during installation is rubbish, it is even more unlikely to be successful due to the way they work. You should be able to convince a company to try it but you might have to pay the call out charge regardless, otherwise its not worth their while.

Most SKY+ boxes will not find signal if you are recording something else and changing channel. Sometimes, when not recording, flicking through channels quickly will result in a 'no signal' message. Changing channel up and then down should clear iy and make it work. Why yours needs turning off, i have no idea. As just as a note for all you SKY+HDs with single and dual feed modes, sometimes the software doesnt actually do the change despite the menu saying it is active.

i would call your landlord/managing agent and get in touch with their TV contractor, see if they can find out how its wired and find the best solution.
