Just Bought This- Distance?

Just bought this for £300 from a motivated seller who paid £699 11 months ago as shown on reciept and warranty. It was a snap decission on my part, buying out of greed and the thrill of a real bargain.

At the mloment my lounge is set up so that I sit just 7 foot away from the TV, although the room can be set up for a viewing distance of 14 foot. Which viewing distance would be best, 7 or 14 foot.

More to the point, what are you feeding it with?
Actually, scrub that - with a 1024x768 native resolution, it's going to squeeze a 720p signal horizontally, and expand it vertically to fit those pixels.
SD broadcasts will be zoomed to fit, and from 7' on a 50", it's not going to look the prettiest.
