Favourite sandbox games

Other than the obvious Grand Theft Auto. What open world or sandbox game do you like the most?

Fallout for me.

Oblivion for me, I prefer it to Fallout and still play it now and again now.

Oblivion, GTA games, Crackdown, Mass Effect 2 I guess Red Dead Redemption but really Oblivion was my favorite I used to spend hours wandering around.

Went back and played the origonal Mafia game the other day, all though not a true sandbox game, its still very good.

For me has to be Obilvion, Fallout and GTA-VC, all great games, all great stories

Not that I can think of apart from Borderlands but they should make more.

Crackdown (1)
Just Cause 2.

Crackdown is MP, and exquisite on the first few run-throughs. Just Cause 2 will suck up 50 hours of your life and you'll still miss playing it three months on.

Definitely Oblivion, so much to do and see. I do like a bit of GTA but it gets a bit samey after a while - steal car, run people down, kill cops, run away, hijack helicopter, kill cops, kill cops, kill cops, die, rinse and repeat.
