Stylus / cartridge replacement

Hi,

my trusty Linn Sondek needs a new needle, it has the Akito Arm, Lingo and currently a Linn K-18 Mk2 cartridge (paid IIRC £230 for it about 15+ years ago. Obviously I can't buy a replacement stylus but it's been that long since I bought such a thing I've no idea what an equivalent would be (presumably something like a Denon or Ortofon).

Any advice would be appreciated.

The K18 was a Audio Technica built design with Linn "Tweaks". The AT440 series should be a good replacement but may have a leaner character. Most users of the K18 moved to Moving Coil cartridges but you would need a step up to accommodate them.

My amp will take a MM & MC input.

Don't play vinyl much these days which is why the existing stylus has lasted so long, wouldn't get rid though it's a lovely thing.
