Help please,, quickly,, late for work!!

Hi,,, could someone please email me a way to open my boot,, I have left my bloody headlights on all night and the battery's flat,, and now late for work, as my jump leads and charger are in the boot!!!!

Why do so many people not know the 'other' way in? I would have thought that a dealer or private seller would have offered this info, or it should be in the owners manual (which it isn't).

What checks do any of you do before you send out this info to private email addresses?

I guess it's something that's furthest from one's mind when they're picking up the new pride and joy,, it certainly didn't cross my mind when I bought my Chim,,, however, I see your point too, I am sure there are people who would ask questions about 'security' for ulterior motives, I assure you, I am not one of them .
I am thinking (still) very seriously about trading in the Chim for a Tamora,,, do the newer cars have any sort of alarm that goes off if the lights are left on,,, for numpties like me????

No idea, but I recently fitted a warning buzzer to my car, having left the lights on twice now. It cost about £3 and is wired to the light switch and the ignition switch. It becomes active if the ignition is off and the lights are on. I configured mine to work on sidelights as well as headlights.

I have had quite a few calls on the subjects of alarms etc including one of "just bought this car and I don't have any alarm fobs, how do I bypass the immobiliser?" Number withheld of course.

Well,,,, just put the footwell carpeting back and took off the clips for the charger and started my Chim up,, no probs ,, from now on,, I'll double check the car BEFORE the other half leaves to take the kids to school,, (leaves only 10 mins before me!!)

My colleague at work suggested I joined the AA, I replied 'why?, I have my buds on Pistonheads,, they're a LOT more help than the AA!'

I have just bought my Chim,a 2000 400 in Starmist Green,Brilliant Fun,using it to go to work 3 days a week,45 miles each way from Eastbourne to Littlehampton on the A27.Would somebody mail me off list the "other"way in as I am sure I'll need it one day????Got the "Bible" and handbook but nothing mentioned as far as I can see....Thanks Neil T
