How much for an LPG kit?

Hi all,

Looking at changing cars and was thinking of a 3.0D X5, but just suppose I went for a 3.0i or even better a 4.4/4.6 V8 instead, how much would I be looking at for a professionally installed LPG kit?

In addition, given I do 10k miles a year, is it worth it and will it add anything to the residual value?

A decent multi point kit fitted with a tank that fits in the wheel well for a V6 is likely to be £1500 upwards a V8 £250 more.

installing a decent kit from scratch eg from (BRC, Prinz, Tartorini) usually works out just under £2k. You can negotiate down to £1500 if you search around.

OK, thanks guys - so I'd need to keep the car for 2-3 years and cover over 15k a year to make it worthwhile really! Will stick to diesels I think, or look for a car with a kit already fitted.
