Guys

Just seen something very weird in the sky just now! there were two bright orange lights with red centres travelling at some speed. From the angle I was at, it looked like they crossed paths.
There was hardly any sound and then disappeared behind some clouds- I didnt see them reappear!

We live in Mitcham, Surrey, and it looks like the objects were heading out towards Croydon way.

I know there are some plane enthusiasts on here, so let me know what you think!

All orangey dots in the skies are Chinese lanterns, which are pretty common it you keep an eye out, but lots of people like to think they move too fast, therefore have to be UFOs,
or they move too slow to be a Lantern in the wind,
or it wasn't windy that day,
or there were 3 in a line, which then changed shape to a triangle etc...

I found a crashed one once, soaked it in lighter fluid, and that didn't half move!

Lanterns
Hmmm they seemed a bit to big and a bit to bright to be lanterns, but I suppose they could have been. Damn, and there I was hoping for my first encounter with ET!

Remember your eye and brain are easily fooled. Evolution has given you a handy set of tools but in the dark they are rubbish. And as you are not as reliant as say a hawk, they are average ish for a predator in the daylight. No real visual cues and references and we are all at sea when it comes to making things out.
