I don't really know why I'm posting this, as its all a bit baffling, but I wanted to vent.

Usually the M3 attracts some attention, mostly normal and pleasant. People passing comment, usual wker looks/signs from time to time. However, today I had a bit of a baffling one...

Sat in traffic queuing for a roundabout on a single carriageway road, and coming the opposite way off the roundabout is an EVO XIII. Nice car, if that's your bag, I've owned a VII myself.

So as he approaches, he slows, then proceeds to HAMMER past me bouncing off the limiter in 2nd, making his exhaust pop on the over run as he lifted off.

Why? Was I supposed to be impressed by his 4 cylinder turbo power?, should I be in awe of his over fuelling map and de-cat?, or was he showing off to the 1.1 Saxo two cars in front?

Anyway, I'm probably over thinking it. Nowt as strange as folk

Why are you dwelling on this? Maybe nothing to do with you and it was just a chav/prat anyway.

Probably just his way of saying 'hey mate look at me,ive got a fast car too' or something like that.

Owned a couple of evos myself in the past but have since grown up a bit,not that im suggesting evo drivers may act a little childish at times. Your answers in there somewhere.......

I used to get a lot of bad attention with my Carbon Black E46 M3. Not the same with the Z4M though.

I've had all sorts thrown at it whilst on the move, chip suppers, emptying ash trays etc. One day when I was trying to overtake a transit, he wouldn't let me past, kept swerving to stop me overtaking. Decided to take another route instead. It was dark but when I got home I noticed cigarette butts/ash on my windscreen and bonnet. Some real idiots on the road..

Depends where you live I suppose.

In rural pensioner areas or chav out of town ghettos, the sight of a 'nice' car makes folk do strange things.

London doesn't seem to suffer from green eyed monster behaviour.

I was expecting a more serious issue when I first read the thread title....

Agree. I have a carbon black M3 and never had any negative comments, only positive.

Plus a fast Evo going fast is normal isn't it ? I would be more surprised to see one pootling along.

Never had massive issues. I find van drivers the worst, especially when I had the 968CS which was red and didnt help.

Probably had more people trying it on when I had the RX8 than I do with the M5

Good Q

Seriously risky on their part as you often cant tell the size of someone when they are sat in a car

Here's hoping they do it to the wrong person and get a fright!

Couldn't agree more. No matter how hard a person may think they are, it's a fact of life that there's always someone harder. Living and driving in London, I never bother to shout and swear, there are just too many nutters around.
