Ford Zetec 2.0 blacktop , what gearbox is better ?

Hi all, I have a question, I alter my kit car Ford Pitno engine on it is established Ford Sierra gearbox, but i would like change engine to Ford Zetec 2.0 blacktop , and change for some better gearbox, what gearbox is better for that engine?

I alter my kit car not for rasing , I want drive long way (full europe), or possible put six gear gearbox ? for example from Honda S2000 standard gearbox ?

It sunds like you need to be more concerned about the differential ratio, what is the current unit? 3.58 and 3.62 are still generally available, if you want a 3.3 (approx) you will need to look harder and pay more, but it might be worth it to you.

A 6 speed gearbox is not necessarily the better choice as the gearbox ratio and diff ratio need to be taken into consideration. A close ratio 6 speed box with a 6th gear of 1:1 will not cruise as well as a 5 speed box with an overdrive 5th gear of 0.82:1 (like for like diff)

Do you know what diff ratio you currently have?

The BGH Type 9 in my Westfield XI is pretty much ideal for me and I have done trips to Le Mans in it. The ratios are pretty close to a standard 4 speed 'box with the addition of an overdrive 5th gear for relaxed cruising.

BGH or similar company will be able to discuss your requirements and come up with a solution.
