S3 Dash switches

The three rotary switches on my S3 are, to say the least dodgy and of dubious quality. I've seen a few pictures of S dashes that have a panel fitted above the radio with various arrangements of controls, as seen in the 'bible'.
Browsing through ebay last night looking for suitable replacements there seems very little that would appear to look good and be sufficiently functional. I'd also like to move the nasty little wing mirror controls from under the dash (as I don't have a UJ for a wrist) and reposition the cigar lighter.
Does anyone have the dimensions for the switch panel and / or any advice/tips on switching?

Although I don't have the front panel I have a spare centre console and the metal panel that sits behind the "laminated one". Once I have swapped my console you would be welcome to both for the cost of p&p and a donation to next years SCH charity

You'll still need to get the laminated bit but you would be able to get the size once you have the other two bits

ETA: I notice your profile says "south" for location. I may be able to get the bits to you if you are in the right part of "south" as I regularly travel Plymouth, bristol, Portsmouth triangle

Thanks Mike, I was going to get the whole centre console redone as the gear stick has made a mess of the upholstery. I'm in Newbury if you're passing, failing that I'll gladly pay the postage and contribute to the charity.

Pass Newbury about every 2 weeks and also have a colleague who lives there so could ask him to take that way for you to collect. You'd need to recover the console anyway as I did so when I first got the car - it is fairly easy but it was the first thing I did myself so not as good as the rest (I was learning and would do it differently now) but a cheaper replacement in the same colour just happened to come up on ebay hence swap and save work.

I'll bring it this way once I've swapped them and let you know - send me an email to [e-mail] so I can pick up your direct email address for when I can get it your way.

(ETA In fact passed Newbury twice today and will do so 4 times next week!!!)
