That's easy.
Ferrari F50 with the full muffler-less Tubi.

Yes but a V8 Ferrari (especially the cheeky 355) would have more of an F1 note with a higher pitch than say an Enzo or an F50.?

I know Drews (Cactussed) 355 almost blew my eardrums out when he did a full chat fly-by past me. IIRC his is around 130db.

The F50's engine is actually out of the Ferrari 333SP LMP-class race car which found it's underpinning in 1990's F1 car. It's the maddest baddest engine I've ever experienced and it was sheer "balls" that Ferrari had a go at sticking it in a road car. You can tell from the volume and sheer mechanical noise with a straight out pipe that it was never supposed to be on the road. It means I've never heard anything louder. 355's are glorious but sound pretty weedy with their Tubis/Capristos etc by comparison. New V8 Ferraris sound like loud farts.

Sitting in the cockpit of an F50 is like nothing else I have been in. Bangs, rattles and pops and a glorious F1 howl. Unbeatable in my book so far. 355's are glorious too, the 360 just about gets away with it and the 430 has lost it in terms of howl. My tuppenceworth.

Agree, it's got to be F50 with full tubi. It is a REAL F1 sound from REAL F1 derived engine, with all mechanical noise etc that goes with it and not manufactured just to sound like F1 as with the V8 systems!

ferrari don't build a car based on just what it sounds like. There is not one standard V8 that ferrari make, that sounds anything like an F1 car. Any glorious sound made is a by product, that's all. Tuned yes, but a by product all the same.

That F40 sounded fantastic at Wilton, would love to hear it really opened up on the road:

No 355 can sound quite as good as that smile
