Mountain Bike Endurance Races, Where to Look?

Was due to buy a road bike, went over to Phil Corley's in Milton Keynes last week but spoke to a few mates last night and they are on about buying Mountain Bikes for the winter (motorbike and car will be parked up!), have googled Montain Bike Events for 2010 but can't seek any pointers in regards competitions etc.

I presume there will be some in the winter in the UK and no this would keep me occupied, anyone know where to look or recommend any events?

I'll ask my mate as he's done a few 24 hour team endurance events recently, mostly Wales and S.West

So doing an endurance race in the winter - its hard enough at 2am in the summer trying to focus the mind, without it p'ing down with rain, and being freezing cold at the same time!

I know but the skin is waterproof and the mind is stronger than the body so no dramas there, is there any more pointers to competitions or where to look?

I did the Twentyfour12 this year, amazing event and would definitely recommend it, hopefully see you there next year! Doing the Relentless24 this October in Fort William so will let you know how that goes!
