Because it's the best car TVR have made, therefore it's the best selling model ever and so there are bound to be more for sale.
I bet there's more Boxsters for sale though.

It is time of year, there were as 'few' as 80 odd back in the winter on here. Now there is regularly over 110 on this site.

To be fair it was/is the most popular TVR so there will be more, but there are also significantly more Cerbs too - up from 35ish to near 50.

We went through a similar post a few months back
Looking on Trader the price range is from £10k to £27k so chances are all these aren't in any one buyers budget, so put in a price range and the number falls, then remove all the cars that are to far away to actually consider going and looking at, then remove all the cars that are colours/specs that aren't to your taste, and it leaves you with 3 cars worth looking at

Unfortunately that doesn't answer the question in hand - a perfect 400 for say £15000 which i take to Peninsula for upgrade OR a hopefully perfect 450 for about £18000.

According to Peninsula, my 'uprated' 4.0L drives like a 4.5. I've never driven a 4.5 but would be sceptical of this claim. That said, it's noticeably faster than a standard 4.0L and feels more 'sorted'. But then, mine is still a 4.0L and hasn't had the 4.6 upgrade.

I am a firm believer in Mr Smith at Peninsula, he does a job properly and wouldn't do it unless it made a significant improvement. So if he advocates the 4.6 as worthwhile as an upgrade, I'd believe him.

1. You won't get the upgrade for £3000.
2. You won't get the £3000 back on resale. Probably a few hundred pounds only.
3. The car will require an understanding insurer because of the mods. Not necessarily an issue but something that can be difficult.
4. You won't be driving a 450 Chim

Well theres loads for sale
I'd go for the unmessed about with 450 or even a 500, but when I was buying £20k only just got you on the 400 Chimaera ladder and I've never had a 'speed related' problem with it, I find that usually the common sense speed limiter kicks in before the cars top end is reached

There are usually loads more Porsche Boxsters and 911s for sale though. Pages upon pages of them in Top Marques. Pistonheads is a really concentrated location for TVRs for sale compared to Porsches or other performance cars.
