hand brake light not working

recently changed my dash on the cerb only now the handbrake light does not work any ideas ,,cheers peter

Try wiggling the wires, not great quality conectors used there I think.

Dash may be a red herring. Maybe the switch has gone out of adjustment or is loose? If you have been clambering over the cabin doing the dash anything is possible

I think there's a microswitch somewhere under the gearstick boot. I seem to remember seeing it when I had some handbrake issues...

O/T - is it easy getting the dash out? My heater controls aren't seated properly and I'd suspect I need to take bits of the dash out to get to them...

that would make sence as i have changed the gear box so may have knocked something

easy job really just unscrew panel underneath the you can get to the heater controls (bit tight under there,, but hey its a cerb never any room

The handbrake switch is on the handbrake under the gaiter. It relies on a bit of bent metal to press the swich - if this has bent too much it will not come on. Easy fix!
