Mercedes-Benz CLK coupe (W209)

Hi all,

A friend of mine at work is looking at buying one of the above (2002-2009 if people don't know the Merc codes).

He has asked me to accompany him as I know more about cars than he does, however, I am not clued up on the CLK at all. So, what should we look for? Common problems, etc, etc...

He is hoping to look at a few, and I will of course do my own research, and will hopefully be able to help him out.

Sorry, should have mentioned he is looking at the 220CDi model, with automatic transmission. Rather important information to have, I suspect...

Check ALL electrics:
Central Locking (google "mercedes machine gun locks")
Seats (all movements, inc headrests) + memories
Steering Wheel adjustments (inc memories for access mode - getting in/out)
Boot locking
Windows etc -

Don't know if we've just been unlucky, but electrics have been a nightmare on my wife's 2003 CLK.
