Guys, honest opinion, I have been calling/emailing HR on an every other day basis for an update on my pre-employment screening.

I have nothing to worry about for the checks they are doing, but need everything to be concrete as obviously I'm anxious!

It's two weeks today.

Do you think I've been too pushy?

I assume then that they've refused to tell you anything on the progress? Or how long they expect it to take?

They cannot advise an eta just that the checks are happening. I have a provisional start date of next month.

It's been 10 days. I called to confirm receipt of documents and then again to confirm that the checks were in progress. Had a couple of emails asking for various bits of info. Last update was last Friday "no update". Called yesterday same thing. Then emailed today.

Do you mind me asking what type of pre-employment screeing it is?

I only ask because things like CRB or SC checks are carried out by external agencies and have been known to take a while to come back. Mine, rather fortunately, took 3 weeks, but I have heard stories about some taking 6-8 months!

Unfortunately, that does seem to be your only option.

Hope you get a positive result at the end of it though!

On a similar vein to this, i once spent some time doing my fork lift truck licences, and there was a guy doing his induction bragging about how he failed his pre-employment medical because of his drug use. Yes, he was a chav a like dole scrounger

Still waiting, they asked me if they could contact my current employer for a reference which they have done and replied yesterday.

Would you all say that getting a reference from my current employer will be the final check???

Due to start week Monday! last day current employment is next Thursday then I'm jobless!
