Hi I am one for the exotica and can never resist a bargain, there isnt much on 4 wheels I havnt owned or driven, but I get bored with them fairly easily.
I have been offered a (was before the accident) quite a nice Maserarti 4200GT I have never had one and now this model has a Ferari power unit I think its worth a go.

Its had a NSF knock a wing and some seems inorder but its on a cat D now I know about the various marks but what about residual prices. Yes I know it can be hard to sell it but how do you price it to buy.

I have seen them no damage for £15k this one is a 2004 car for £6k but the cost of the parts and labour to put it right will come close to the £15k

obviously any buyer would rather be buying an undamaged car so the £15k makes sense.
what should I be paying and what should it fetch in % to an undamaged car when I'm bored with it?

Any pointers greatly appreciated.

I seem to have trouble explaining these facts to salvage sellers any thoughts?

£9k to repair!!!! There must be a cheaper, lot cheaper option to repair it I'd have thought. Seriously how much damage is there? If it's a cat D why spend a fortune to fix what can be done cheaper?

As others have said,

9K to fix it!
are we talking new dealer parts prices n labour?
Can the said parts be found in breakers yards for less?
if it really is 9k ish to fix then its to damaged to touch in my book.

if you can do it for less and i mean a good bit less and still end up with it done right with no corners cut then maybe go for it.

Most Cat d cars sell from anything 10 to 30% less (depending on the car and damage etc) have a look for other cat d cars that have been fixed and see what price they are selling for verses non cat d's.
