Hagerty Insurance Again...

I was not happy to find a letter from Hagerty Insurance when i arrived home. After two years insured with them on my 944 without incident, they have decided to not insure me anymore, all because im 27, which if i may add isn't exactly young! whats with moving the goal posts? it used to be over 25 not over 30! just as well i was going to sell it anyway this just gives me more reason. So if any one wants a nice 944s for 2k let me know.

I can't see whats to be angry about?, insurance companies infact all companies change there target markets at some point unfortunately you arn't in their market any more.
try a new insurer.

why? it is useful information and not slander. The OP is stating that the insurance company have changed the requirements to have a policy with them and that leaves the OP somewhat confused since he has previously been insured with them for 2 years.

Might i suggest you speak to Sky or Chris Knott as they do policies for under 30s.

Its fairly obvious that Haggerty have screwed up big time over the past year or so. Witness their effective pull-out of the TVR market earlier this year (well, to be fair, they still cover those built prior to 1980.) Whooppy doo!

I suspect they have taken quite a hit on claims from drivers under the age of 30, and as such have decided to pull out of that market.

A lot of companies are pulling out of various unprofitable sectors at the moment, rather than underwriting the individual risks.

I got a wiff of this when i phoned up in April to ask if they would add my best man, also 27, on to the policy for the weekend so i could go to my wedding in my car, instead i arrived in my Citroen C1 not quite as i'd wanted.
