Your first flight...
Discussion
I don't have a great memory of my first flight as I was very young, it was to Ireland on something like a Short 360. Horrible thing it was too.
My first 'proper' flight was to the states on a Northwest 747 in '94, I remember being very excited as I was going to be on a Jumbo. I only wish I was as excited these days when I get on a plane, more torture than anything else usually

Like many, mine was in a Chipmunk with the Air cadets.( flying out of Filton.)
I'm jealous. I was too late to fly a chipmunk
I had flights in the Bulldogs, and just before I left, the Grob.
My first ever flight was to portugal on an Airbus. But I was only 7 so can't remember the model.
Mine was in Cessna 152 G-BKTT, also from Stapleford. We first flew west over Walthamstow, then back east to Hanningfield reservoir and back. By the time we got back to the airfield the weather had turned rather unpleasant and it was throwing it down with rain. On landing, the spay thrown up made it look more like a speedboat than an aircraft.

Circa 1980 Dan Air BAC 'Loud B'stard' 111
I started working for them in 1989 and loved the 1-11
In fact one of my fondest memories is of standing under the starboard engine whilst waiting for the demin water to be pumped onboard for a highpower engine run after an engine change, and for the guys on the flightdeck to start it up, then proceeding to give it max power! Really gratefull I had my ear defenders on that day!
