I'm in need of some CHEAP insurance for my S2. Any recommendations??

RH Specialist Insurance sorted me a fair deal but insurance is a funny old thing, when I was looking someone would say XYZ for example were by far the cheapest but there quote to me was horrendous !


Of course its not just about cheapest, be sure you're getting all you want, agreed value, breakdown cover, track day cover, option to purchase salvage should worst happen etc. etc.

I've gone to Classic Line which were cheaper than Hagerty of last year.

When my cerb was totalled, they paid out quickly.

I go along with philpott's comments above. A year ago, the majority of replies would have recommended Hagerty, but since they pulled out of the 'modern' TVR market the field is open. There seems to be little correlation between quotes for people of similar risk and particular insurers. Having been through the whole tedious exercise myself recently, primarily with the intention of finding a particular level of cover rather than a minimum price, I soon discovered that my personal quotations were wildly different to those of others of apparently similar risk.

So, check recommendations by all means, but to get the best deal there are no shortcuts - you have to get on the phone and ring all the usual suspects.

I have just renewed the insurance on my S1. Formerly it was with Hagerty, a tip off from them led me to a brokers called Need to Insure (www.needtoinsure.co.uk or phone Gary on 01623720081). They were able to get me an agreed value insurance on almost identical terms to Hagerty for 50p more than my last premium! The insurance is with Royal and Sun Alliance. Certainly worth giving them a ring, Gary was very knowledgeable and couldn't have been more helpful.

Try Footman James.

Im 30 years old never had such a powerful car and i got fully comp and european recover for less than £300 (3000 miles limited use)

Prob best to call them as online submission really stumps up the quotes ive found.

Hmm - was footman james at circa £400 (38 y/o full NCD) garaged and 6,000 miles. Now Carole Nash and went to £108 Fully comp ( I kid you not) same policy terms and conditions as Footman it appears.

Looks like Carole Nash might be good if you have lots of NCD to use. I didn't and they wanted £600 for 3,000 miles.

Ended up with Heritage on a classic policy but was still £400+. I'm 44.

Ironically for our 3000M Carole Nash were £125!

Is your car garaged over night ?

Found this to make a big difference, some insurers happy enough aslong as car was on a private driveway while others very expensive if not garaged 10pm to 6am.

Garaged overnight on an RAF base behind an armed guard. 1000 miles per year. I'm hoping it'll be quite cheap.
