Noisy, boaty, slow, thirsty, unsafe ( http://www.euroncap.com/tests/nissan_navara/317.as... )

Buy one, you'll love it!

If you don't need one don't get one. They are vans with a few creature comforts.

Saying that my Transit is nicer to drive than my Boss' Navara.

I should add that the one in your link is a D22, think they the one with the dodgy engines,

Its a D40 you want, bulletproof.

I'd much rather have a Defender 110 for that money.

Unless you need one, don't buy one.
Th navara is the nicest out of all of them of that age, but they still jiggle like a bd and are woefully underpowered for what they are and really aren't suitable for long distance cruising.

I've got a 2004 L200 Warrior, great offroad. ste on it.

My uncle's Navara is great. It's a MY09 version but is comfy and reasonably quick. Huge too. he has the roof section covering the rear which makes it brilliant for chucking all the camping kit in. Roof bars over the rear roof-section can support a tonne too.

Is the D40 the latest model? If so I beg to differ, My Boss' 57 Plate has had a new clutch and head gasket under warranty.

The brakes are crap on them too!

Look at a early Pathfinder - more secure & probably more comfort

that beggs the question what did he do to it?

D22 (in the OP's link) had a rep for doing engines, later D40 versions are a completely different platform.

early D40 (55 plate on) to EU3 are the best of the engines, later ones (to EU4) lost the variable vein turbo, and in the process are ~20% worse on fuel and 'feel' slow in comparison.

on my second D40, no issues with it, it's not a car, but it's as good as any 'proper' 4x4 short of spending Landcruser/Rangerover cash.

My mate has one. Good for moving stuff and doing what it was built for.

But if you don't need the capability of what it can do, I couldn't give you one good reason to buy one.

My advice is have a good test drive first, then you'll know.

Nothing out of the ordinary, day to day driving with the odd bit of light towing.
