the smart car has a very strong saftey cell , unfortunately in an impact your vital organs will take a bit of a thumping .

I cant see how being a foot long. There is bound to be more risk to ocupants in something that small.

There was Fifth Gear episode where they crashed a Smart and something else small-ish like a Corsa into a brick wall and was surprised how well the Smart did......

The big problem with conventional cars is that they have the engine directly in front of the passenger cabin, as well as the wheels, all of which gets pushed back. All of that goes under the car with the smart so there's usually much less passenger cabin intrusion.

Just bought a new "Urban Chic" my 3rd Smart car I started with this

They are great cars for around town the school run etc. MPG is nothing that exceptional 40/50 in real world terms auto is a bit sluggish but with the gear paddles it is better. Loads of character and good quality interior (mine has leather air con heated seats etc and a brill standard fit Pioneer touch screen sat nav bluetooth head unit) Sooo easy to park and get about in I love it!

Oh and the V12 the number plate reversing sensors etc were added as a joke just my sense of humour.....
