L322 gearbox problem, holding gears..
Discussion
Had same issue. Fluid can be changed and by main dealer however did not cure my problem. There are two other known issues that cause this. The reason the gearbox holds gears is that it goes into towing mode to try and cool down as it is getting to hot. The reason it is getting to hot is likely that the bottom chambers of your radiator have bunged up. These are required to cool the gearbox. The second issue is that the same bunging up happens to the oilcooler. Therefore the solution is to replace both. I understand the LR can do a test on the radiatior by measuring how long it takes for the coolant to drain from the bottom hole. Too long and you have a blockage. I changed my radiator and oil cooler as a precaution and confirm fixed the issue. Bewarned - dont fix and you may need a new gear box in time !! Good luck
