I'd be worried about tuning support - all the expertise is in the States as far as I am aware. Would you send them your ECU to be flashed then sent back? Probably wirth getting in touch with DPTune I think it is to get their expert opinion.
I seem to recall reading that the upgraded internals are not actually necessary as the problem all along was with the tuning. That's just skim reading miata.net a few weeks ago though.

If it's possible I'd get the Cossie SC without fuelling/timing and have a stand-alone ecu fitted by someone who knows whet they are doing over here.
However, the issues with the old Cossie SC on the Mk3 was that the engines weren't strong enough and they were bending rods so I'd do a bit of research into how many failures there were and what they think the causes were first.

Litchfield Imports offered a Cosworth SC upgrade - not sure if they still do.

I looked into it after seeing the Litchfield article - however it looks as if there were numerous problems with the set-up, including terminal engine failure. Search Mx nutz for Tark. Would be happy to be corrected...Evo review of the results here: http://www.evo.co.uk/carreviews/evocarreviews/2341...
I've talked to the guys at MX5 Parts and they said that the only cars that have had a problem were those where the fit or tune might not have been quite right (and the vast majority of those in the states where they generally use lower quality fuel). They seemed to think that as long as it was fitted & tuned by a professional there shouldn't be a problem...
Interesting. Kind of confirms what's on miata.net. Not sure if whoever cracked the tuning problems are licencing their software over here? Did they mention who had the skills to install it over here?
I don't fancy being a guinea pig either! Did you discuss price Lazza? They're massively expensive iirc. Like, 5 or 6k?

Having a Mk2.5 myself price wasn't really something I was interested in
There won't be many tuners with any experience of supercharging a Mk3+ but there are a lot of very good tuners around that could do a very good job of that sort of thing. I had my Adaptronic ecu fitted by Re:Worx in Portsmouth and they hadn't worked on an Adaptronic, supercharger or Mk2.5 before but they did a good job. There is also a good guy that Charlie (Surrey Rolling Road) knows who works on the same business park as him and who did a bit of extra tuning for me who I'd trust to do it too (I can't remember his name right now).
I'm not sure what the fuelling/timing solution for it is but as I said before, I'd be happiest with a stand-alone ecu tuned by an expert.

hi, from what i read it must have been pretty serious as owners were getting letters saying not to use the car. even though i like the idear of having a supercharger fitted, i am rather worried about reliability.
Would it be worth contacting Cosworth themselves to see what they have to say on the matter? Straight from the horses mouth as it were.

reply to my last post....well i contacted cosworth and they have no plans to develope a supercharger kit for the new MX5. they did put me onto a company who are developing a kit for the new MX5. a quick look at their site gives me a feeling things might be looking up. oh the company is Brodie Britain racing.
