My 306 rallye 386 bhp
Discussion
Well a normal sunday afternoon nursing a sore head after the night before i decided to take the car out the garage and give it some love and attention, oh and a good thrashing, not used the car for a good 11 months (had another car i was useing, plus owning a garage i was always in the recovery truck).
Was having thoughts of selling it as at the minute the car is probably as good as its going to get, i have done a lot of work to it, if you are interested you can read up on its progress on my website in the projects section www.cgcarsleicester.co.uk
Fell straight back in love with it, shes lovely, here are a few pictures for you, should be off to the ring in it next month.
Car is a 1999 306 Rallye which i bought completely standard in 2006 for the sum of £1800, car had done 57k miles with full history, still only done 64k and very rarely gets used, will be going to the ring with it next month (this will be the fifth time!!), i have since spent somewhere circa £10,000 on it and supercharged the car and more or less restored it to what you see, paintwork bar the bumpers and bonnet is all original.

I've met carl once or twice - he knows his stuff so I can well beleive that figure.
your right though, its a LOT of power! I always felt my GTi-6 could handle a bit more but perhaps not more than double...!
I presume it has a quaife/similar diff in it Carl?
Whats the suspension setup on the front too?

There's no way the car in that 2nd vid is putting out 454bhp. It's barely moving up that hill!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGL_yyAdJwU&fea...

That must be TOTALLY undriveable! My last TVR had about 10bhp more, but then designed with a chassis to handle it.
Are you sure it has that much - or just been told by the blower people that is what it has (not the same thing!).

There is plenty of tuned FWD cars putting out that power or more.
With the right tyres / suspension and a lsd they can be made to drive well and be lots of fun.
