Love the original typo
would that I had been similarly afflicted. Could it be arranged that the added expense of the radio in the programme (most of us have personal radios or mobiles with FM if we want to listen to the commentary)is replaced by a decent set of ear plugs. After 'Rule Britannia' a few years back I didn't think it could get any worse -how wrong I was. Presumably Dame Vera was o/w engaged but at least she would have had the excuse of age for not hitting a note. If this perfomance had taken place anywhere else it would have got the bird. To inflict it at a time when solemnities are being observed is taking advantage of the assembled peasants ( I include myself) of the sort that provoked a revolution in 18th C France.
