£80k for an E30 M3!!!!

I can't decide if this guy is dreaming or not but £80k for an E30 M3 seems crazy. It's a lovely
thing but I do wonder if all the seals will be shot when it actually starts being used?

Crazy money sad thing is all it will mean now is e30m3 owners will keep wanting more and more. And as good as these cars are there really is a limit to what anyone would pay e36 m3s much more tempting but then again many chaved up.

Regardless of the provenence of this car, £80 K is silly money. Original Batmobiles go for that money and they are amazing pieces of history. E30's althoght fun to drive are hugely under powered and blown away by any quick hot hatch on any road. More than £30 K and you are being ripped off.

My neighbour has a stunning red M3 Evo II, it has around 48k I believe and one of only 25 limited edition models.
He was telling me he bought it in the mid nineties and has only done 4k in it.
Wait till I tell him about this, he seen another recently sell for £35k with higher miles and not a limited.
So I suppose someone might pay the asking price for an old new car you never know

Although I agree with it being overpriced.... I do think that the e30 m3 in motorsport terms is greater than a batmobile (although I'd prefer a batmobile). Also the arguement of it being slower than a modern hatchback doesn't bother me really, all about how much fun you have.

If i had more money i would honestly snap that up at 80k. Bargain if you ask me.

Special M3's are more than just money and a badge.

A empty road at night or early morning, the rev limiter and that glorious BMW 4/6/8 cylinder banshee roar, the sweet weighted steering, is worth a lifetime of fond memories.

Its Factory fresh, just needs a inspection II with the best fluids and upgraded parts.

E30 m3 is an inline 4 dohc.

Iirc rev limiter at 7,500 rpm

I still don't get the point of buying a car and not using it, especially something of this ilk. Cars should be used, granted or even driven occasionally once in a blue moon but it's a waste.

It's an £80k garage ornament basically - because as soon as you register it and drive it, it'll be worth half that.

Although, someone with a bit more brains than I might be able to work out how much £43,000 (in 1990) would be worth two decades later?

Iconic car no doubt but I think there are other pieces of automotive history I would buy for that sort of money.

Makes E36 M3's and E28 / E34 / E39 M5's look like the bargains of the century!

I guess it will always remain unused - as others have said, using it would destroy its USP.

As for the price, I suppose if you must have an unused E30 M3 then they're probably so thin on the ground that you either have to do without or pay whatever is being asked by the seller.

Far too much money. Personally if were to 'invest' in an M3 then I would want something that I could use on track, on the road its just a bit of waste.

and you don't think batmobiles don't get blown away by modern hatchbacks?

btw, if you can peddle you'll know that an e30 is in no way underpowered

Put the copy of Evo magazine down. Go drive one. A normal, bog standard car. Then a 2.7 Litre, Carbon Airbox, stand alone management car. Then come back and tell me (as an owner) that these cars are worth anything like that sort of money. I'd never pay more than £35K for one and I'd want something a damn sight more powerful than an unregistered ornament.

0-60 in just under 7. Absolute top speed of 139 (via GPS) Not so much torque under 3K. There's a technique to driving them. (Corner speed predominately) But they ARE underpowered by modern standards.

As it turns out I saw a White e30 m3 thrashing it down the IDR in Reading 40mph lmit. I heard him hit limiter in two gears and the first was certainly 2nd. The noise was very notable - coc& driver who looked like he lived in Slough.
