Hadlights not working

Just got in my car to go out, sidelights and full beam work fine however both headlights appear to be out?

Now being Sunday night there is nowhere open for me to go and buy a spare bulb/fuse.

However, is it likely that both bulbs have blown at the same time? Seems very odd, could it be something more sinister?

Highly unlikely both bulbs blown together.

It has happened to me before - where both bulbs go at once.

Normally, when you replace one bulb, you need to replace the other shortly afterwards due to the "spike" in current (I think) when one bulb goes. Sometimes this causes both to go.

This happened to a friends car - both dipped beams gone, certainly unusual.
The fuses for the lights are split left & right, i.e a fuse for the right, and a fuse for the left so different circuits.
So yeah - quite possible both bulbs have blown.

Fuse isn't a problem, will a relay set me back a bit?

That's why they are called hadlights, because they are lights and you had them but don't anymore

Happened with my number plate lights. Replaced one bulb and the other one stopped working.... thankfully they come in a two pack !

Drivers side sidelight was out the other night as well, gave it a tap, came back on thankfully, as you need to dismantle half the car to change it...

What car is it? Could be a fuse, relay or wiring issue. If the bulbs have both gone it could be a sign the alternater is on its way out or needs a regulater in line.

Could just be a knackered switch ?

Dont know your car, but my Volvo has spare fuses fitted in the fuse cover you pull off.

However if the fuse has blown, and it goes again, then you need to put the car in to find out why it blows.

Its a Mazda 5

Just seemed weird for them both to go at once, looked in the fuse box and there doesn't seem to be a separate switch for the separate lights either?
