Sleek new shape for Lexus?

Lexus always used to be "inspired by" mercedes benz design.... looks like they may be taking a bit of inspiration from Chris Bangle at BMW (hints of Z4 to the scallops on the doors and interplay of crease lines)

For "innovative luxury" are we to read "complete nonsense, extra buttons you'll never use, pointless additions, no thought given to how the damn thing actually drives..."

New lexus coupe concept eh?

Chances of it actually making production, and looking anything like the concept?

About say....30%?

Dare I say it looks more than a little like the old Ford Cougar? And we know how well that went down...

As far as I'm aware, the LF-S concept is going to make production as the GS replacement fairly accurately. Could be the same with this one...

I've seen the GS replacement, it's nicer than the old one but doesn't look like that picture !

That's not what I said. The LF-S (Lexus Future Saloon) concept is becoming the GS replacement. This LF-C is thought to be a possible IS based coupe. AFAIK

Let's not forget that:

1. Lexus probably make the best quality car currently available; and,

2. Lexus by and far have the best aftersales care of any mass market vehicle.

I agree this looks a little 'unlikely' however, we have seen the SLK and Boxster and concepts come to life........

The Z4 nicks it's design cues from the original Corvette. Twin lamps, scalloped sides, round rear lamp type theme....

No,, it's impossible that the Z4 gets its styling cues from a C1 Vette, beccause the Vette is actually a good looking car. The z4 was inspired by a Z3 after being sideswipedby a truck. The FErrari Scaglietti however... Anyways, I never thought the Cougar looked too bad, and the Lexus thing does look better than any BMW it proports to look like.

Actually, if you consult www.sniffpetrol.com in the archives, you can see that the final assembly stage of all bungled BMWs is to have them soundly beten with the ugly stick, so the Z4 might well have looked like an original vette pre the final stage...
