Car is in limp mode ( I Think)...help please!!!

I was just cleaning some diesel from around my injectors on my Volvo V50 2.0d, while looking for a fuel leak on one of the injectors.

We took an injector plug off and forgot to reconnect it before starting the car. Will this to cause it to invoke limp mode?

Currently the engine won't rev past 1200RPM and has no power at all.

I disconnected the battery for about 45 minutes hoping that would clear the ECU and it would run normally.

Any help, information or suggestions appreciated.

I had a similar experiance but on a diesel focus replacing the airfliter and needed to disconect the air flow sensor forgot to put it when started fired up and cut out straight away connected a diagonistic tool wipped the dtc and car run fine so take it to a garage to get them to code read and delete the dtcs should work costs about £20-30 to do try that if not havent got a clue

If it limphome, it would clear with a battery cycle. Should clear with an ignition cycle. If it is a genuine restricted petformance or limphome, I'd say whatever fault is still there. Check the part you removed and replaced is ok. Wire prob broken on the electrical connector. Diagnostic check will give you a code for restricted performance.
