Merc ML battery problem

My 2007 Merc ML had a flat battery this morning, but I am wary of disconnecting it and fitting a new one as I have been told all the electrics/ECU will need resetting. Does anyone have advice about this or know how to solve it without having to give the main dealer my left arm?

I have no prior knowledge of Mercedes electrical systems but logic tells me if that really is the case your screwed already, a flat battery might as well be a disconnected battery so I'd just go ahead and swap it out.
