i considered changing to a tuscan a few years back, but was advised by many it would be a move i'd regret, i'm so glad i didn't do it now. although roof down hooning is still one of my favourite pastimes nothing compares to the £ for punch that the cerb offers.

Yes. T-car (non Tuscan/Tamora) are on the list of possibles next, so Sag/T350.

edit: If we were to let the Cerb go though I would look to buy it back in the future - they were the flagship production car under wheeler, the only modern TVR with an engine unique to it in road production and they're getting rarer by the year. Mark my words, these cars are beyond the normal future classic stuff. Hell, even a Ferrari 250GTO shared its engine with other cars... hehe Does make you think doesnt it. thumbup

Well we went the other way, have a Chimaera and always wanted a Cerbera, now have both. Drove lots of 'T' cars in between but just none of them cut the mustard for me, so it'll be these two forever.

Unless I can lay my hands on the original Typhon.....but then I guess I'd just have to extend the garage biggrin

I always wanted a car with a LS7 engine in it. Still do, and am terribly envious of blackiepauls LS Saggy for a very light car to stick one in and have fun with.

But somethings just wrong. I'd have to be forced to do it with my Cerb. The world would have to run out of AJP engines.

I suppose I'm not that married to the looks of a Saggy, so wouldn't mind so much.

In fact car wise I have my accountant banging me over the head to buy something and I really can't see what to buy. Don't like E60 BMW's, don't like newer TVR's, don't really need, or want to build another Kit.

Closest I've come to wanting another car is a DB9, but its a lot of extra money for something that probably doesn't deliver performance wise.

So I solved it by buying the fastest production bike yet made this year, and in doing so feel that every car is now slow again. smilefrown

I shouldn't, but, i'm tempted to try a Tuscan.

Just seen the Typhon go up for sale though scratchchin although perhaps my pay rise wasn't quite sufficient for that!

Looks wise, I prefer the Cerbera over all the other TVRs, but it's time for me to move on, get a car more comfortable doing shorter runs, then when the kids are a bit older, and the wife and I have time to ourselves, i'll be back in a Cerbera to do some tours of Europe in style.

Unless I can afford a Maserati Gran Turismo.

I had the chance to drive Dean's Sag round Rockingham earlier this year, and on track I thought it was brilliant. Much better than the Cerb, especially into, round and out of the corners (although I was quicker than Dean around Goodwood recently wink). I even started to search the Classifieds (despite being many £s short on budget).

I may still, one day, go down that route but the thing is, despite the fact Dean 'tours' in his car with the best of us, I still think the Cerb is the far better Super GT car, and as it is in this scenario that I use my car most, Im in no hurry to change. I think the Cerb knocks the Sag into a cocked hat on long distance road trips.

I also think the Cerb is a better car for the long range trips, have been tempted a few times to get one to go alongside the Sag smile

Well its like this for me. After six happy years of Cerb ownership i will be selling before years end,and coming out of TVR ownership altogether. I will be moving on to something ive wanted for a while. But before i do i would like to have a go at a Tuscan or Tamora before then.

Maybe someone can educate me here. But i am of the belief that the later cars like the Tamora and Deans Sag were better handling cars and gave better driver feedback than the Cerbera???.

I don't think that I'd want to part with the Cerbera...... therefore the answer is buy a second TVR!!!! biggrin However, neither budget or SWMBO nono would stretch to that for quite a while yet....... frown

When looking for a TVR I always wanted a Tuscan - particularly the Tuscan I S - love the agressive front appearance and also the fact that it has the targa top - would like some open top motoring in my life at some point.... And having been fortunate to have been given passenger rides in Graham V's Sag at Cadwell and also Paul's (?) Sag at Oulton, I've got to say I came away very impressed with both the pilots ability and the car's pace and handling!!!!! bowwoohoo

As I've also got three motorbikes (and am being nagged at to sell one), the family X5 (whopping big V8, natch wink ) and an Audi as "station car" - I can't see the "fleet" being added to with another TVR at any point soon.... I think that the next change (budget etc permitting) will be the Audi. I've always fancied a go in an XKR, but that's hardly the sensible "workhorse" option, but I reckon it would be comfy on the motorway!

(Gotta agree with julian64 here though, after owning a bike with over 180 bhp - cars feel pretty slow ... hehe )

In the meantime, I'll continue with the "ultimate" TVR of the Wheeler era (although wasn't the Sag conceived under his reign?) and hope to keep it in tip top condition, whilst continuing to enjoy thrapping it at every opportunity.

I suspect this depends very much on the individual car, but essentially yes.

I think you'll find a Z06 boring, I went through a stage when I really wanted one, but the interior leaves me cold, the exterior is unimaginative and everything I desperately liked about the Z can be fitted into a TVR. winkthumbup

Trust me i wont find a Z06 boring. After being taken out in another one friday and shown the proper potential of the car this time around, i was blown away by the staggering performance. From every gear i was pushed back in to the seat(The only time ive had that king of experiance with that sort of power was with a CL65 AMG) and the handling was way better than the Cerb. And ive had mine set up by someone who knows what they are doing.

I tend to differ from your thinking. Aside from the interior(Not as interesting as the Cerb)But outside it definitely has a more aggresive appearance than the Cerbera. Like some on here i like cars to be as they should be. i wouldn't dream of putting an LS7 in a TVR. It belongs in a Vette. Same as the only engine for the Cerb is the AJP.

I still have that hankering for a T-car before i leave altogether.

Well I've got a Cerb (which I've had since 2002) and a Sagaris (which I bought last year). So, in answer to your question "No" I don't intend to move away from the Cerb, but to supplement the Cerb "Yes".

Nick, if by that you mean more relaxing (better) then I would agree.

I was seriously considering a DB9, but in the end decided that it was another GT car and I wanted something bit different. I didn't have an issue with the performance, not as raw as the Cerb but certainly adequate.

I've juggled with the idea of a Tuscan convertible for those sunny day jaunts. Like most of the rest of you, I am finding it hard imagining life without the Cerb.

I nearly sold it a couple of years ago, but couldn't go through with it! biggrin

I love the look of the T350 but when I tried a couple I found them a little dissapointing compared with the cerb. The sagaris was a better handling car but still didnt excite me like the cerb does. The only car I have been in that blows the cerb away on most things was a ford gt but when I tried to park it in the garage I couldnt get out of the thing. So my thoughts were a supercharger on an AJP engine. What do you think. I dont know how hard a job that will be but Im thinking it could be my winter project.

I have thought about going backwards and getting a classic TVR (I used to have a 3000M). They have a 'charm' of their own and tend to deliver in terms of driving pleasure at more socially acceptable speeds.

But for now, the Cerb is still looking ideal... smile

The first TVR I fancied was a red Chim with beige interior.

Still fancied one for the Mrs but as she has now bought her own convertible and I find that it's either too hot or too cold, I now realise that I'm so lucky to have bought and drive the perfect car for me !
Tuscan is attractive but not Cerbulicious ! drivingcloud9
