Anybody switched ECU's (MBE)

Has anyone here switched out the encypted MBE ECU (Caterham version of the 992) for an MBE 9A4 or other?

Not personally, but loads of 7ers use Emerald ECUs in place of the MBE.

I am just wonderring how big a deal it is changing out the connectors between the MBE and the Emerald for example. If someone has a pin-out of each I'd like to open up the options..

Have you done a search on Blatchat? I'd imagine this has come up more than once on there and you don't need to be a member to search threads.

Yes, I had a quick search over there, looks like a Emerald harness is available. I emailed Emerald for some info..

One of our guys on BC bought his Superlight R300 with no ECU, then installed a 9A4. The pinout is the same I believe.

I am intending to the same thing, so that I can enable CAN output and get a really sorted map.

Yep i did when rebuilding the CSR, was a direct swap from what I remember and works fine
