Supercharger kit on flea
Discussion
Hmm - well some bit look "right", for example the plenum and the bit of blue hose on it are DPR.
However on mine the pulleys and belt are toothed, not poly-vee. The tension is acheived with an idler pulley, and the steering pump is on a separate belt. The whole mounting bracket is completely different.
I would caution any buyer to check with Dennis Priddle and also ask about the stampings on the supercharger. You also need to be sure the bearings in the blower are good and the vanes are OK.

I've just emailed to ask him which car it came off - there were only two 400SXs One is Adam's and the other was sold last year and in very good condition
A couple of 350s were done in 400 shells which may have confused the seller and there were a number of Range Rover conversions
It would be a real shame to think that a car as rare as an SX had been broken...

1 350 in 390 shell - Green
1 350 in 350 shell - In my garage red
2 350's in 350 shells built in 1990, one Blue ( in Scotland) One green was

I wouldn't be too sure of that! When we had an operation in Saudi I once visited a warehouse owned by our sponsor, who was a quite-wealthy Arab gentleman. The warehouse contained a myriad of vehicles which he claimed were all bought by him from new and then parked-up once he'd finished with them. The concept of selling them seemed to be alien to him, yet the vehicles were not particularly tidy nor regularly maintained in any way (I'd say most of them were unlikely to ever see a road again). There was a Rolls that would have blended in in Moss Side, some sort of Yank 4x4 desert-storming thing with a 7L Chevy in it - roll cage, padding , harnesses, you name it (think Bowler Wildcat meets Humvee, on steroids), Jag XJS V12 drophead, Aston, Mustang, you name it. All just sat there slowly disintegrating. That must have been 9 or 10 years ago, I bet the place is a bit more packed now.I was told that in general, the Arabs don't buy a car and then sell it when it gets to say 3 years old, like we might do, they just run them into the ground. You don't imagine that a Wedge would last very long in those circumstances, in that climate.
ETA: I just did a Google for Faisal Al-Suwaiket in Khobar, Saudi... the office number's on there if anyone wants to ring up and ask if he has any old cars for sale

Whoever said there were 17 Sxs was wrong
Dave Haughin was a mate of mine and he told me a bit about every car ( mine's No 7)the blue one and the green one in 350 shells were 10 and 11 and were the only two not to go to DPR, the kits were sent to Barrow and they were Sprintexed there. ( I was never sure if all the suspension and chassis work was done on them) They should have 4 pot calipers, aeroquip brake lines and SEAC drive shafts)
Robson's first book said there was only 1 SX - I wish they'd ask me - I've be4en keeping a register for the last 15 years!

Hi Guys
Just seen the thread the s/c is defiantly not off my 400 and mine has the same set up as adam's ,i can't see that Dennis Priddel would of changed the set up if there was a third one.
Jasper did the seller reply to your question ?.
Martin
Yes - inconclusively - he said he'd bought the bits and didn't know anything about the car they came off.Just seen the thread the s/c is defiantly not off my 400 and mine has the same set up as adam's ,i can't see that Dennis Priddel would of changed the set up if there was a third one.

Looking at the pictures again you could probably make something work on a wedge but it won't be easy, you might have to make a new mounting bracket. It all hinges on the condition of the blower, the throttle body looks to be in a funny orientation too but I think you can change that by 90 degrees to suit the installation.
I don't know if he belt might be prone to slippage too, I wouln't like to put 70-odd bhp through a poly-vee.
The other thing you'll need is a modified ECU to increase the fuelling where needed.
I had a look at my Tiv books before bedtime but no mention of production figures in there, just some reviews of the SX's. I dunno where the number 17 came from, it just stuck in my mind from somewhere. I reckon Jasper's list must be the most accurate, so I'll start quoting the lower (rarer) figures from now on ;^)
